Our Story

Emerging Trends

During the doctoral research of our co-founder Murat Arikan at the Vienna University of Technology, our team started to explore opportunities to bring his research to market. We noticed early on that a new generation of laser scanners was improving the quality of reality capture data while driving down the costs. This was drawing in a new generation of service providers, intensifying competition among surveying and engineering firms.

Initial Steps

As Murat’s research got published in renowned peer-reviewed journals, we began working on ideas that could help service providers to stand out. Addressing two challenges became crucial: improving workflow efficiency through better data management and delivering tools for service providers to showcase their projects. Building on these findings, we set out to develop solutions to visualize and animate massive volumes of photos and laser scanner data.

Laying the foundations

To take our innovation to market, we joined the Teknopark Istanbul Research Park and the incubator program of accent Gruenderservice GmbH in Austria. Soon after that, we received a seed investment from the Netherlands-based Diffusion Capital Fund Cooperatief U.A. and the AWS impulse XS grant from the Austrian government. These opportunities allowed us to build our company, establish a US presence, and accelerate our R&D efforts.

From Prototype to Product

Subsequently, we started developing prototypes and test them with pilot projects in collaboration with partners from the architecture, engineering, and construction industries (AEC). These projects helped us refine our software and finally release our Minimum Viable Product (MVP) in late 2019.

Growing with the Market

Right off the get-go, our software received considerable attention and allowed us to build two go-to-market pipelines consisting of software subscriptions and channel partnerships. Our quarterly release schedule helps us quickly incorporate incoming feedback and expand the feature-set while our social-media centered marketing allows us to reach a growing audience.
